Intermediate Programmer/Analyst

Recognia is seeking an Intermediate Programmer/Analyst. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for the design and development of leading edge, on-line investment research tools and products.

Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities;

  • Provide advanced level web programming and web page design. 
  • Assist with process, data and object modeling in a variety of application and database environments.
  • Contribute to systems architecture analysis, design, development, and enhancement. 
  • Develop greater expertise in industry leading information management technologies. 
  • Develop and test code from design specifications, as well as implement and support enhancements to software applications. 
  • Participate and contribute to team and client meetings.

Project Responsibilities;

  • Work as project team member during end-to-end system life cycle development of major projects. 
  • Lead minor projects and assists junior level staff with minor projects. 
  • Provide technical input to risk analysis and hange control. 
  • Accurately report project status to senior project team members.

Supervisory Responsibilities;

  • Assist and mentor junior level Recognia staff to ensure they are meeting project deliverables and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Capable of thinking "out of the box" or being stretched with respect to creative expression. 
  • Can deliver flexibility and adaptability within a fast-moving 5-9's environment. 
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree or recognized technical diploma in Computer Science or related field, and demonstrable experience at the intermediate level in web application development. 
  • Provide a confirmed working history that illustrates excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. Be proficient in both verbal and written communications.
  • Possess a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal skills. 

Demonstrate a solid working knowledge and significant hands-on experience with; 

  • Application design, development and implementation of medium to large web application projects. 
  • Ability to define and resolve complex technical problems in heterogeneous information systems environments. 
  • Object oriented design and development. 
  • Experience using source code control software. 
  • LINUX environment 
  • Apache, PERL, MODPERL, SQL, MASON 
  • Javascript, HTML, XSLT, XML, AJAX 
  • Postgres
