- Qtrade Investor Deploys Recognia Technical Event® service, Screener
and Alerts
Vancouver/Ottawa, Aug 14, 2003
Recognia Inc., a leading provider of automated technical analysis
tools, is pleased to announce that Qtrade
Investor, Canada's Leading
Independent Online Brokerage, now provides its customers
with access to Recognia's suite of Technical Event identification
and chart pattern recognition tools. Recognia's analytical
tools let Qtrade Investor customers research stocks using
recent Technical Event opportunities, allowing them to make more informed
trading decisions and helping them to uncover new investing
opportunities.
"At Qtrade Investor one of our commitments
is to provide our customers with the investment tools to help
them make better investing decisions" says Aldo Pippo,
Chief Technology Officer of Qtrade Investor. "The Recognia
Technical Analysis Tools are an excellent example of the kind
of leading-edge tools we provide to our customers. This, in
turn, lets our customers take control of their financial future."
Qtrade Investor's customers now have
access to Recognia's Automated Investment Research based on
Technical Analysis, which provides Qtrade Investor customers
with the technical information to make better investment decisions.
Qtrade Investor will offer Recognia's full suite of products,
including its new Technical Event tool, Technical Screener
and Alert functionality. Once set, customers will receive
automated Alerts which provide convenient notification of
Technical Event opportunites for stocks and indices, thereby assisting
customers with their trading strategies.
Technical Analysis is the quantitative
side of Investment Research. It is distinct from Fundamental
Analysis, where investors use company and market information
(such as Earnings, Balance Sheet, Interest Rates etc.) to
make investment decisions. Until now, investors have required
extensive training and manual intervention to use Technical
Analysis to support their investment decisions. The use of
advanced computer technologies and innovative approaches has
allowed Recognia to automate the process of finding, categorizing
and presenting events based on Technical Analysis principles.
"We are extremely pleased to offer
our tools to Qtrade Investor's customers" says Sean Church,
President of Recognia. "Qtrade Investor is recognized
as one of Canada's top online brokerages, notably for their
dedication to providing outstanding customer service. The
addition of Technical Event tools compliments Qtrade Investor's
existing research tools and allows them to offer their customers
access to the kind of tools previously only available to professional
and institutional investors."
