Ottawa, Canada and Sarasota, USA, January
23, 2004 Recognia Inc., a leading provider of automated technical
analysis tools, is pleased to announce that Pring
Research, a globally regarded educator of technical analysis,
has licensed Recognia's suite of Technical Event® identification
and chart pattern recognition tools. Recognia's analytical tools
provide investors with the ability to research stocks using recent
Technical Event® opportunities, helping them to uncover new investment opportunities
and make more informed trading decisions. Pring Research's subscription
service will allow any investor to sign up and get access to the
powerful combination of Recognia's advanced technical analysis tools
and Pring Research's insightful and valuable commentaries.
"This deployment represents a significant
milestone for Recognia," says Sean Church, President of Recognia.
"When Martin Pring, one of the world's leading experts on technical
analysis, joined our Board of Advisors it was a tremendous endorsement
of our vision and our technology. Martin has worked with Recognia
to help us to refine and enhance our services and this effort has
culminated in its highest endorsement yet - Martin's decision to
provide Recognia services and information directly to his customers.
We are proud and honored to have such an acknowledged expert put
his name on our product."
"We are very excited to offer this
powerfully unique tool to our customers," says Martin Pring,
President of Pring Research. "Recognia's ability to automatically
and accurately identify chart patterns and to then show these patterns
directly on the chart provides investors with an amazing amount
of information and saves them a lot of time and effort. This is
the kind of tool that will make the power and advantages of technical
analysis understandable and actionable to a very wide audience."
Recognia's Automated Investment Research
is deployed on the Pring Research web site (www.pring.com)
as the "Pring TIGER". "TIGER is my acronym for Trading
Ideas Generated
Efficiently
and Reliably",
states Pring. "Until now, it required years of experience and
an unbelievable amount of time to find profitable price patterns
from a large database of plotted charts. The automation of the majority
of this process opens up a whole new avenue for research."
The Recognia extensive database includes
over 16,000 securities from all major North American exchanges,
stocks listed on the London Stock Exchange, cross currency rates
and North American indexes. Prospective subscribers can test drive
the TIGER using an on-line demo and view streaming audio/visual
movie tutorials to quickly grasp the TIGER's potential. The full
suite of products includes:
Technical Event® Stock Screener
- Allows traders and investors to search for new investing opportunities
using a powerful stock screener built around Recognia Technical
Event opportunities. In the Stock Screener investors are able to select the type
of technical breakout they want to search for, either from the complete
database of over 16,000 securities, or filtered by exchange or industry
criteria. This powerful tool can potentially uncover profitable
situations overlooked by other investors.
Technical Event® Alerts
- Allows traders and investors to set alert criteria for technical
breakouts, such as a specific type of price pattern, etc. These
search criteria may be set for all or part of the database, or for
a list of specified securities such as a watch list. Once the alerts
are set, the investor will receive automated emails that contain
links to the identified securities enabling them to be plotted with
a single click.
Recent Technical Event® Lookup
- Allows investors to find Technical Event® opportunities and chart patterns for
specific stocks they are interested in. Users can select what type
of information to display and can view charts with multiple events
annotated directly on the chart. This chart annotation saves investors
significant effort and provides an immediate visual analysis of
the situation for each stock.
Technical Analysis is the quantitative
side of Investment Research. It is distinct from Fundamental Analysis,
where investors use company and market information (such as earnings,
balance sheet, interest rates, etc.) to make investment decisions.
Until now, investors have required extensive training and manual
intervention to use Technical Analysis to support their investment
decisions. The use of advanced computer technologies and innovative
approaches has allowed Recognia to automate the process of finding,
categorizing, and presenting Technical Event® opportunities based on solid Technical
Analysis principles.
