How can I get more Technical Event results coming back from the screener?

Here are a few pointers to get “more” from the Technical Event Screener:

  • Your criteria might be very focused or specific. If you don’t want to expand your search criteria, set up an email alert so we can notify you as we identify new opportunities that match your criteria. This way you don’t have to keep checking back. After running a search, if the screen tells you there are no matches, a link titled “Set an Alert Using the Current Search Criteria” will appear. Click this link to walk through the steps of setting an alert.
  • The screener by default searches for opportunities from the last trading day, often “yesterday”. So depending on how strict your criteria are, for specific types of Technical Events or stocks, there may be no matches from yesterday. If you try expanding the date range to “In the last 2 weeks”, some results might then appear. Earlier opportunities are often still relevant for today’s trade decisions, particularly in the case of patterns that identify major shifts in the trend of a stock price.

If you have refined your search to focus in on very specific requirements (such as a certain price range), or types of Technical Events (such as Double Bottoms) then you might consider expanding your search. There may be opportunities you are missing in other stocks, and you can visually scan through the result list to rule them in or out.
