Product Description

Recognia’s Pattern Recognition Service Provides Competitive Advantage

Recognia provides Pattern Recognition Services for financial websites, portals and online brokerages ("clients") that want to:

• Gain competitive advantage by offering unique content
• Increase revenues from subscriptions, trades or advertising
• Attract and retain visitors and subscribers

Unlike other pattern recognition products, Recognia’s information service provides access to more reliable patterns, from more financial instruments, more quickly than anyone else, and is available exclusively on a licensed basis to 3rd parties via the Internet.

Here’s How It Works

see full view of diagram

Step 1: Data from any publicly traded financial instrument, including stocks, bonds, funds, commodities, currencies and indexes, is automatically sent to Recognia at the close of business each day. Recognia currently analyses more then 20,000 securities each day from North American stock exchanges, and is expanding this capability to include hundreds of thousands of financial instruments from markets around the world.

Step 2: Using patent-pending pattern recognition algorithms and neural networking technology, Recognia then systematically analyzes the pricing data for these financial instruments overnight, producing charts for each security and automatically detecting current and historical chart patterns. The technology used by Recognia is proprietary, and has been developed and validated by experts in the field of technical analysis.

Step 3: Financial websites ("clients") license the Pattern Recognition content from Recognia. Clients pick the content, layout and format they want to present to their end users, and create a "Chart Pattern" section for their website. Formatting of the chart pattern information can be done either by Recognia, or by the client to meet the unique needs of the client’s business and its end users. The content can be presented to end users as a co-branded (Client plus Recognia branding) or private-label branded (Client-only branding) service.

Some of the filtering characteristics that can be used to query the pattern database include security symbol, exchange, industry sector, pattern category, pattern type, date range, price, and volume. Go to Pattern Characteristics for a complete description.

Recognia can also tailor chart pattern selection to match the portfolios, needs or risk profiles of the client’s customers. Clients can also apply the information provided by Recognia to their own charts.

The Chart Pattern Recognition Service also includes access to Recognia’s Traders Reference of technical analysis and chart pattern information. These educational resources include definitions, pattern trading statistics, discussion and white papers, and are an excellent complement to the chart pattern information.

Step 4: Investors, Brokers and Money Managers use the patterns to identify new trading opportunities and to confirm opportunities identified using other means. Clients may choose to make the chart pattern information freely accessible, or may choose to offer it as part of a paid service or subscription. In either case, users query the data to identify specific patterns by whatever options are made available to them (symbol, exchange, industry sector, pattern category, etc.). The results are then presented graphically and users can refine their search. The information is used to make better, more informed investment decisions.
